Cartoon-Looking Rendering of 3D-Scenes
We present a rendering algorithm that produces images with the appearance of a traditional cartoon from a 3D description of the scene (a static or an animated scene). The 3D scene is rendered with techniques allowing to: outline the profiles and edges of objects in back, uniformly color the surface inside the outlines, render shadows (backface shadows and projected shadows) due to light sources.
متن کاملCartoon Style Rendering
The objective of Cartoon Style Rendering is to produce a cartoon looking rendering out of a 3D scene. Instead of rendering photorealistic images the focus lies on artistic and stylistic characteristics. In this paper we give an overview of the common methods to generate cartoon looking scenes. We describe the basic techniques for the silhouette edge detection and the shading of the interior. Th...
متن کامل3D Pose Refinement Using Rendering and Texture-Based Matching
This paper presents a method for accurately determining the pose of Lambertian rigid objects present in an image. An initial pose estimate computed with the aid of local point features is ameliorated by considering all visible object texture. This is achieved by combining a textured mesh model of the object with a graphics renderer to synthesize an image of the object as would be captured by th...
متن کاملCartoon+Texture Image Decomposition
The algorithm first proposed in [3] stems from a theory proposed by Yves Meyer in [1]. The cartoon+texture algorithm decomposes any image f into the sum of a cartoon part, u , where only the image contrasted shapes appear, and a textural v part with the oscillating patterns. Such a decomposition f=u+v is analogous to the classical signal processing low pass-high pass filter decomposition. Howev...
متن کاملEntropy Based Cartoon Texture Separation
Separating an image into cartoon and texture components comes useful in image processing applications such as image compression, image segmentation, image inpainting. Yves Meyer’s influential cartoon texture decomposition model involves deriving an energy functional by choosing appropriate spaces and functionals. Minimizers of the derived energy functional are cartoon and texture components of ...
